I went away on vacation for two weeks from Sept 1 - 16 and during my time away something drastic happened to my traffic. I went from averaging about 150 views per day to almost nothing. And it all happened almost overnight on Sept 12th? Did I get myself into Google's doghouse somehow? Before I left most of my traffic was from Google so I suspect something happened here.
I did read somewhere on HubPages that it could be the fact that my Hub summaries are taken directly from the first paragraph of my Hub and therefore may not be unique? Could this be the issue? I have started changing all of my summaries but I'm not sure how long it will take reverse this trend if this is indeed the problem. Does anyone out there know of any other reason that may have caused this?
Thank you all in advance for any help?
Bill
According to Dr. Pete's MozCast (http://www.mozcast.com) September 13 and 14 there was a lot of hot activity at Google, although they have not officially stated there was an update.

I'm guessing it's because school started this week, but today my page views have taken a drastic drop. They have been cut by more than half...is this happening to anybody else?

This is just weird. For the last 5 years about 25% of my traffic has consistently come from google UK, but over the last few days this has all vanished. (I'm still getting traffic from all the other google sites including US and Canada.) Is anyone else experiencing UK traffic disappearing?

Good job hubpages! Tell all your authors to write 3 sentence summaries about their hubs. Then use these summaries for meta descriptions in the actual webpages. Stupid. I bet hubpages has millions of pages with meta descriptions that clearly violate search engine guidelines. Bing won't even index a...
