Can someone explain page views to me. For example I checked them at 10:00 am and the page view for 1 day is 384 so I checked them again at 4:00 pm and the page view is 269. How do the views go down. I always thought they would keep adding up each time you got another view the amount from the morning would go up but that doesn’t seem to be the way it happens. I should know this but I’m just not sure how they’re counting page views.
The views on your stats page are not for one day; they are for the past 24 hours. The result is that between 10 and 4 today all views that happened between 10 and 4 yesterday dropped off. It is a rolling figure, updated about once every hour give or take, and for the past 24 hours.
