I know the bold, black H means the hub is featured, and the circle of arrows means it's still in a pending phase. What does it mean if there is nothing at all in that spot? I just noticed I have one today, and I never had that issue before. It is a hub that doesn't get much attention though. Thanks.
It means the hub is no longer featured. I noticed the same thing yesterday with one of my hubs. Perhaps a different symbol is needed for hubs that are no longer featured...
Thanks Practical Mommy,
I must have caught it as it was going into Idle mode. I checked about 15 minutes later and see the dreaded circle of gray idleness.
Hmm. I must have done the same then. To get mine out of the Idle status, I updated it by adding new text and a new capsule or two. Perhaps some updating will help your hub as well. Good luck!
I didn't like the zzzs but I don't like the blank spot. It's hard to see for someone with bad eyes.
I asked this question a week or so ago, and people told me the lack of symbol was a replacement for the "zZz" they used to have.
Hi Kathleenkat,
I believe you are correct. I must have just seen it right before it turned into the circle of light gray arrows, meaning it's a ZZZZZ. Maybe the spot is left blank for just a little while before the circle comes up. It's snoozing, unfortunately.

I've been making a screendump of my overall hub stats each day to try and keep track of what's going on so I can work out "what works on HubPages" and what doesn't. The aim is to determine some sort of priority about what to do next.Up until now I've been focused on the traffic data and...

You may have noticed some Hubs have become featured. We are continuing to tweak this system so that it has less impact on the best Hubbers. Our hope is to have additional Hubs become featured as we continually refine the system.

I'd like to suggest that "normal" Hubs should have an exclamation mark next to them on our account page.I think there's a very high risk that new Hubbers will misunderstand the normal/Featured system. I've already answered one enquiry from a Hubber who has misunderstood it.He...

Can someone explain to me how a hub with 278 comments gets booted from featured? So I noticed today that a hub I have that was getting daily views up until losing the Featured circle and has over 270 comments suddenly has lost the H circle next to it. How does that happen?

Today I noticed my profile has gone back to not showing all hubs. It only shows featured hubs. A bit annoying but I went to edit the profile setting for this, again. However, the profile won't keep the setting. No matter how many times I change it, save the change, the profile reverts ...

I just noticed that one of my featured hubs got "un-featured" What could be the reason for this?Could it be due to fall in traffic? Or is it just content based? Do you think I should try making changes in the content and try to resubmit it? Would that help?
