What's up Hubpages? I am writing here because unlike every other AMT requester - there is no way to contact you all via mTurk.
It says after I took the test so I can work on rating Hubpages that
"Qualifications Required: Online article rating accuracy is 30
Your Value 175 You do not meet this qualification requirement"
WTF?
I do not understand. Why I can't work on rating hubpages at all. How can a higher score be not good? Is this golf?
You can view image in a separate tab in order to be able to read what it says:
BTW already requested qualification already.
The two top ones are "adult content'. Qualifications are different for those. Check the others.
No, you cannot contact requesters if you are not qualified to work their hits. It's an MTurk thing not a hubpages thing. Went into effect about a week ago because a certain requester was being slammed with qualification requests via their hits.
It told my I didn't qualify either? I couldn't work it out, but ah well!
This may help too. I usually get a pop up asking me if I want to only allow secure pages. If I click yes, it won't show. The hit only shows if I click "no" which means I'm allowing an unsecure page to load.
Daisydayz, I was told I didn't qualify at first too, but then I saw that a "prequalification" test is required that pretty much just confirms your ability to read english. Did you take that qualification? If not, you can find it by doing a search on HubPages under Qualifications in MTurk. I believe it was the one called "Online article rating accuracy." Once you take that, you can try taking the "Hubpages article rating permission" again and you should qualify to take the test.
Daisy, you don't live in the US, so you can't work on MTurk.
That's is untrue! Everybody from ALL countries can work. Just have to pass the English test. Besides USA isn't the only English speaking country. I've done the HIT's and some I can do because I'm not from GB or r Australia
They used to accept anyone, but only workers in the US and India could get effective payment. The rest of the world got Amazon.com vouchers which are pretty much useless if you live outside the US. Now they are no longer accepting workers from outside the US. This blog post explains why (scroll down - it's not the first post)
http://turkrequesters.blogspot.co.uk/
From what I have read if you are in the UK there is nothing to gain from signing up with MTurk. Even if you qualify and do the work, they pay you in 'Amazon.com' gift vouchers, but 'Amazon.co.uk' won't accept them, so essentially there is no point in trying to qualify for MTurk as Amazon.com will not let us shop there if you live in the UK. Strange system when you think that the nationalities probably best qualified to assess hubs written in English are those whose native language is English!
You can transfer the amazon account money into your bank account. Don't have to shop at Amazon. At least in the USA it's that way.
You can't if you aren't in the US. From MTurk FAQ:
If you are a US based Worker, you can choose to disburse your earnings to your U.S. bank account or to an Amazon.com gift certificate balance. Workers in India have the option of receiving bank checks denominated in Indian Rupees or disbursing their earnings to an Amazon.com gift certificate. All other international Workers can only disburse to an Amazon.com gift certificate. Please note that all disbursements are made in whole cents only.
They don't want us!
+1.
We can't gain anything financially from joining MTurk if we are in the UK (unless we can find someone to buy the Amazon.com gift certificates from us which really isn't worth the hassle for what we would get out of it after we discounted the 'cover price'. The pay is already peanuts!)
If view the image it will show that I already have the adult content requirement. I just don't understand why I can't work on the HITs. Hubpages needs to work out the bugs. I got the $2 bonus that show that I 'almost made it' so I'm proud of that. It was a overly extensive test.
It's not aHubpages problem. google chrome works better than IE at mturk

I passed the qualification test for rating hubs (obtained a 92% score and received the $5 bonus), but when I returned to Mechanical Turk to actually rate hubs, the HIT states I am not qualified. I am posting a screenshot of the page. The qualification requires a score of "30" and I have a...

I just seen a forum thread about "New Qualification Test for Rating Hubs" by "Paul Edmondson". Went through the formalities but got a message from amazon."We have completed our review of your Amazon Mechanical Turk Worker Account. Unfortunately, you will not be permitted to...

I got approved for Mturk, but Amazon payments can't confirm my identity. Even though I gave them information, they still have restricted my account"This functionality has been disabled on your account. We have failed in verifying the information submitted by you. Click here to find out more...

I received the below message today. This is odd to me as I have done 100 HITs for them in the past and stopped there, knowing full well that 100 was the daily limit. This is the first time I've seen this message and had my Mturk qualification pulled. My questions:1. Is this new? Can I expect to see...

I must admit, I was pretty excited when HP announed that they were going to pay people to hub hop on Amazon MTurk. The HITs don't pay much, only 5 cents a time, but you can make more money through bonuses, if you have a high accuracy rate. It all went pretty well for me at first and...

Why is mturk showing as a traffic source to one of my popular hubs?I have never seen mturk (Amazon's Mechanical Turk) show up as a traffic source for a hub previously and this particular hub has several visits yesterday from there. Wondering why that might be? Seems strange. It wasn't...
