After Penguin/Panda hit in 2011 my HP traffic and earnings took a dive. So, I left HP and concentrated on my other online endeavors. I did keep my hubs here, though. About 6 months ago I decided to revisit my hubs to see what I could do. I deleted some hubs, updated all of them and changed titles using the title tuner function.
A few weeks ago my traffic started increasing significantly. I am not sure if it was due to the changes I made, a new google update or a combination of both. But, my traffic is now up over 300%. It is still not at my all-time high, but I am happy nonetheless.
My earnings are increasing, my traffic is increasing and I now look forward to checking my HP dashboard each day.
I am not sure how my hubs will handle the next google update and what my HP future holds, but for now things are looking good.
Janet21, that made my morning. I love it when Hubbers see upticks and traffic and feel encouraged- and my stars and garters, what an uptick! Congratulations.
The same thing happened to me along with some bad vibes here. But my love is returning to the site and I have started checking in everyday as well. I know a part of the issue had to do with grief due to the loss of my brother and grandfather but I am feeling quite optimistic about hubbing these days.
You're definitely and inspiration to us beginner hubbers! Thank you for sharing
Always is nice to hear good news. Motivation increases rapidly!
Very encouraging. I've noticed a better trend in traffic, also; in my case I think it has to do with my subdomain and hubs aging and so indexing, plus just that I have more hubs; I'm pretty new, will be a year for me here at the end of the month.
Anyway, congratulations! It's good to hear you're hubs are doing well.
Well not 300% but I have noticed an increase of around 100% with my little humble hubs...............
Actually it's more like an 86% increase...........math was never my forte!
Janet2, that's encouraging for the newer folks. You hubs look amazing. I'm not surprised you're getting so many hits!
That's great news Janet21! I'm a new hubber here and so far all of my hubs have been featured. I've wanted to write for years, but have limited myself to my computer and broadband hubs... i wanted to expand on those topics but wanted to write about other things as well, so I came back to HubPages. I tried HP a long time ago but abandoned it due to other priorities, now I'm finding that my male mid-life crisis is getting back into writing and composing music. My wife seems supportive because she knows how busy I've been with other things. I get modest traffic now on my hubs but I'm hoping that more people will follow me and share my hubs with others... I would love to have HP as an additional income stream (we have financial issues like everyone else) but I am a long way off from that level yet, need to keep writing!
Wow that is good to hear and thanks for the update. Even though I have slowed down with my pages and posts lately due to other online ventures I think I will have to also update my pages and get back on the ball. I just looked and also see a nice increase in traffic - wooo hooo.
That's great news and thanks for the information. I've always wondered about the title tuner but never used it. I'll take a look at it now.
I have heard that changing your title could mess up your rankings with google. Not sure if that is fact or rumor. So, I generally don't change titles on my pages. However, my HP traffic was so bad, I figured what the heck, it can't hurt. And, it didn't.
My daily traffic is three times what it was a few weeks ago, so I equated that to 300%. Is that not correct? Since I wrote this post, it is now more than four times higher. I was down to 300 visitors a day, now I am up to 1300/day. My all-time high was close to 2000+/day.

Is everyone disappointed about HubPages new system/standards?I've been noticing some people express disappointment with the way HP is running business lately. Some people have lost Features, and others are having difficulty getting featured. I haven't had this problem at all yet. I'm not trying to...

What gets you excited about life?I almost put "What is something that gets you excited about life?" but that seemed too leading. It shouldn't have to be a thing.
