I have 2 hubs where the ads have been disabled. I wanted to see the word count in these hubs. The way I would normally do that is to click on edit and it would show up in the upper right, however, when ads are disabled, that msg. appears there instead of the word count. Is there another way to see your word count other than clicking on edit? Thanks.
my slow witted arse would probably resort to copy pasting it into MS word and using the word count tool there, lol!
Click on the Hub, click on 'Stats' (in between 'edit' and 'delete') and click on Hub Metrics (two tabs right of 'Total'). The very first item will say 'Word Count'. That is without using Edit.
Ahhhh! Thank you! I will give that a try.
It worked. To steal an expression from 1991, "You're the bomb."
Wow! I didn't even know about this... Thanks for sharing. This is very useful this stat thing...
Copy paste the contents in MS word and the word count will appear at the bottom of the page.
I hadn't thought of that... I hope I have MS word... lol... Ok, thank you both.
I use Word as well for wordcount. etc and then copy and paste into HP.
It said there were only 174 words, but like 700+ characters. That seems somewhat unreliable. I don't feel certain it's correct. I don't know.
Word is a mighty Office God. You are not allowed to call it unreliable.
With that number of words, you could just count them?
Obviously you would have way more characters than words lol.... and that 700+ characters probably includes all the space between words that's why it's that high.
I am not able to publish, do you understand that. Then they said my hub would be featured, but how is that if you can't publish. When I call the phone number and push one as it states to do, nothing happens and there is no code. Do you have to do advertising first is that the Google Gimmick?

what text actually counts towards your hub's word count? I know the words in the text capsule count, but how about rss feeds, news, links, polls, etc.? Is this text included in the word count?

On another thread, a Hubber suggested that if HubPages had a minimum word count, it would prevent some spammers.I know that a very low word count can get a Hub flagged as substandard, but perhaps it's set too low at the moment?

I understand the check boxes at the top of the Hub templates are just suggestions but have been making my Hubs at least 1200 words as I am under the impression that this is the value for the Google algorithm. I could submit a far larger number of Hubs if I were to lower the word count to 1000...

I am new here and just joined a few days back. I was wondering if there is a minimum or maximum word count limit on hub pages. I also wanted to know what these insert custom character, superscript and subscript links in the text capsule mean?I hope someone out there can help me....

Hello everyone. I am new to HubPages, and am wondering if there is a Word Count feature in the article template. If not, do people just paste the text into Word to determine the Word Count? Thanks for your answers. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

I know that the length of a good hub should between 800-1400 words, but where does it tell you how many words you have written?
