The 10 Worst Stings on Earth -- It got really long and I'm thinking about breaking it up into several smaller hubs. Any suggestions?

Your Hub is 4,600 words. One of my best Hubs for Google traffic (on poetry) is over 10,000 words. A Hub is only too long if it is boring. Even short Hubs can be boring. Your Hub isn't boring.
A longer Hub has more opportunities to be found for more search terms and for search terms you weren't knowingly targeting.
I would suggest, however, that you add a Table of Contents after the first paragraph and use major keywords for the anchor text in the on-page links. It's great for SEO and your viewers will appreciate the index, too.
If you don't know how to do a Table of Contents, see this forum thread:

Briiliant, WF, thanks. Going now to follow your advice.
I added a table of contents. It's a fair amount of work but it was cool to learn a new skill. Also cool to scroll through the source code -- the DNA of the internet! Thanks again.

How long of a Hub is too long?Hubbers are encouraged to write quality Hubs that are not too short. Can a Hub be too long? How long is too long? I think anything under 500 words would be too short. 800-1500 would be good. Sometimes I get a little chatty and hit 2,000...

Is a 4000 word hub too long?I have written a hub on a specific subject but it has ended up being 4000 words long. It is pretty detailed and there isn't really a way to cut it down. I did a few searches and there isn't much else written on the topic and nothing that covers it as thoroughly. I am...

Can a Hub be too long?Hello! I was just thinking that perhaps the reason my Hub scores are lower than I’d like is that perhaps my Hubs are too long? Many of my Hubs are between 2700 & 3600 words. Are these Hubs too long in terms of what Google wants or HubPages...

Do you think a hub can be too long?

I am in the middle of drafting a hub but am finding it to be getting quite long with a lot I still want to include. Is there a recommended (or actual) maximum length that a hub can be and is there a precedent for dividing into multiple linked parts? Many thanks,Rob
