Every photo today from Wikimedia Commons is pixelated when it has to be the new size. Is it a problem with this site or some other issue? I moved them to the right on the page.

We are unaware of any current issue with photo capsules, so you may want to see if using a higher resolution source image addresses the formatting you see.

If you are still having issues with images, please provide the title of the Hub and/or URL.  This may be best addressed by contacting us here.

For reports presenting a potential technical issue, the more specific details you can provide the better.
Here is an excerpt of what is helpful.

      - Be as descriptive as possible and include:
+Page (URL) where you saw the problem
          ~System details
What browser and version you're using
What operating system you are using
You can quickly determine the details above by pointing your web browser to System Details
~What action or task were you performing when the issue occurred?
~Does the issue persist with a different browser and/or computer?
~If an issues is related to an image, please include the problematic image as an attachment.

You can find the entire guide here or stickyed in the forum.

Brakel2, how are you downloading the pictures from Wikipedia?   I suspect it's the way you're copying them that's the problem.

Wikimedia typically offers several choices of resolution.  Choosing the default, which is very often low resolution, will often result in pixelated image.  Make sure you choose one of the higher resolutions.

How, precisely?   Do you click the download link, or right click, or what?

I right click and click save. Then Firefox downloads it to the program I select. I have never had trouble.

Just because it works doesn't mean it gives you the right result!

What "program" do you select?  What format are you saving them in?

If you're just right-clicking and saving, then you may be savng a low quality version of the image.  It's much better to use the Download link.

Thank you Wilderness and Marisa for the additional information on Wikimedia. I have found the various resolutions and the download procedure. My photos for my hub look pretty good now. At last I may get to publish my hub.
