I've been going through old hubs and I'm noticing that the box for "Comments must be approved before they appear" has been unticked.
I didn't think much of it, but the more I'm finding and remembering quite clearly that I used to have to approve the comments before they showed leads me to believe that some glitch or bug has turned them off.
Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
Since I have them all allowed, I can't possibly experience such kind of a problem
I switched over all my hubs to require comment approval when the feature was created, and I'm not seeing any problems.
The default has always been for comment to appear immediately. So if you don't remember checking the "Comments must be approved before they appear" box explicitly on those hubs, perhaps that explains it ...
It's strange, because I remember having set it up for my approval, and even having to approve comments (a long time ago).
In the very least though I do get notifications, so whether it was a hiccup or me just going senile, I can fix them as they get commented on.
i dont think your going senile... i had my hub comments set to approval...i used to get email notifications.. only very lately like the last week...comments now appear w/o approval.
i have gone back through every hub and checked the current settings and arranged as i see fit...luckily i dont really plan on denying comments anyway but if it had been important to me and I had more than 10 hubs at the time ...it could have been duanting
Okay, I've gone through ALL my hubs and I've now ticked on "Comments must be approved before they appear" and "Display most recent comments first" (because I prefer it that way).
Now, I'll wait and see if the hubgoblins that have been terrorising me and sunforge do it again.
Thank you Julianna
I love your new one too, just did not have a chance to let you know this yet
It doesn't look THAT much like a mugshot....
All he needs to do is hold up the mugshot identification card!
Yeah, it does. All that's missing is the marks on the wall behind him to indicate his height.
You know, I think I saw that up on The Smoking Gun website... lol...
Oh, sure, this was taken the last time I paid a visit to Fairfax county jail for 110mph in 55mph zone. Did not know it went public though

I noticed the past few days that any notifications of comments don't appear in the notifications list until I approve the comment. (I am seeing the comments as they show up next to the Hubs link on the homepage, so that is not an issue.) Newer notifications showed up before the comment did....

I just learned that administrators will publish any comment we don't promptly decline so moderation will not protect hubs from abusive comments if we are away from HubPages for more than a few days. How can I get the automatic approval suspended when I go to the hospital to protect the hubs used in...

What Would Happen if you didn't Approve a comment?Under new comments there is 2 buttons... APPROVE and SPAMBut what happens if you press neither? If nothing, then is the approve button really neccasary? or should it just be a default until you hit Spam?

Currently all comments I receive on my hubs are set to be approved or denied before being published. I cannot find where I can disable it (or enable it later, if I want to).

Comments appear on my pages before I approve or deny themOK, I have recently had some comments posted which have automatically been displayed before I have approved them. Is it possible to stop this and only have them displayed AFTER I have made the decision as to whether they are suitable?
