Brainstorming Hub Awards Nominations

Ok, so in an effort to maybe discover hubs and hubbers I am less familiar with who may also deserve a shot at a Hubbie award, I thought I would start a thread where each of us can post some ideas for hubs/hubbers you feel others should check out.

    Rules:

Don't nominate yourself please - come on...

Don't say specifically who you are voting for or tell others who to vote for.  Just suggestions smile Preferably more than one like "hubber a and hubber b both take beautiful pictures I'd check them out".

List the names and hub names only as I don't think we will be allowed to keep links here without them being snipped.

Just keep it an open discussion about hubs/hubbers you enjoy and keep it fair for everyone.  This can help us nominate more people without the process become too daunting.  You don't have to fill in all the nominees of course, but the more the better I think.

I'll post some of my faves here in a minute.

      Most Helpful

Marisa Wright or Relache are always on the ball with answering questions in the forums.

On to the two hot button areas....

      Religious

There are several religious folks on our site.  One of the nicest of our religious/spiritual hubbers is FaithReaper because she's very polite and kind to others (a true example).   Other religious hubbers off the top of my head are JThomp and Lybrah (I think hope I'm not
misspelling hers) JThomp often asks thought provoking questions that stir debate at times but are also good for discourse when we don't resort to arguing smile

      Political

JunkSeller is very articulate and thoughtful with responses as is MT Dremer.  Landmark Wealth is also very passionate but civil about political subjects in questions I've asked. Peeples is very discerning and thoughtful in her comments as well.  Mitch Allen also falls in this category, even when we've disagreed on some things he's kept the tone respectful.  Borsia is also very thoughtful and thorough in responses.  Whether I agree or disagree with any of these people, they are the ones I've personally seen who can have a debate, even a heated discussion and keep it both intelligent and civil.  The art of good debate has not been lost on these fine folks.  I've purposely included those I tend to agree and those I tend to disagree with in the spirit of fairness.  We all deserve to have a voice.

      Best Teacher

There are a lot of these topics that kind of overlap and several people for that reason will also overlap.  I think Wrylilt does a great job of teaching people about Pinterest and using social media.  Marisa of course is always taking on causes.  She teaches people and also isn't afraid to speak up if there are things here she sees that could work better, so she's a good community activist as well.  Also, forgive me I am blanking on his name - the gentleman who is so knowledgeable about the SEO stuff
someone will know who I'm talking about - please chime in.

      Class Clown

Mark Ewbie and FatFreddysCat are both quite funny and clever in their responses.  Class Clown I see as a compliment to someone who makes us smile or laugh, so I hope it is taken in that context.

I'll be back with more as I think of them. smile

      **More Additions**

As I've been pondering here are some more greats off the top of my head.

JanShares and Paula aka fpherj48 are both super nice and very supportive.  Jan is all over the forums. Paula I see a lot on hubs and answers, always leaving her sharp wit and amazing answers.  Both these ladies bring a lot to HubPages.  Paula's comments are always detailed and lengthy - she puts herself into it.  Jan is always reaching out and she is very considerate of all different answers and opinions, which of course leads to great discussions and idea sharing.

Teacher - Billybuc - his hubs on writing are top notch.  He knows his stuff.

Most likely to go viral.  Wrylilt knows a lot about creating hubs that go viral.  Crazyhorseghost also has numerous amazing hubs and has had over 10 million views! wow. I think he knows a thing or two about getting traffic also.

More to come.... Hoping others chime in here soon!  smile

I like Billybuc for teacher and Breakfastpop for Political.

I'll have to think about the others.

When it comes to teaching I'd have to vote for Susanna as she taught me what I needed to know through one of her hubs when I first began. Can anyone tell me her actual name here? Can't seem to find her.

To display my ignorance . . .is it against HP policies and doctrines to ASK for people to vote for YOUR own hubs?
I am serious and I have a reason for asking.

No it isn't against the rules, but the point of this thread was to get people sharing work of others they enjoy - not for self-promotion.  If you have a hub though you think we should consider, by all means post away and I'll check it out and consider it smile.

Christin S . . . I am not going to do this, promote my own works. I was honest. I did not know that it wasn't against the rules.
To me to do this would be so egotistical and self-serving.
If and I do mean if, I have a hub that is worthy of consideration, I want it to be on HP's terms.

That's awesome and I agree that we shouldn't be voting for ourselves in the contest, especially not multiple times lol - I mean, the one fellow with the poncho and mask spartacus - he voted for himself and I think that's fine.  He really wants that award and his avatar is pretty original so I think I'll give him my vote too lol smile  I wouldn't vote for myself either - unless they had some kind of award for least original user name and avatar - I can SO win that smile.

There are so many to choose from . I enjoy a lot of the travel hubs and will have to spend time looking through them to bring out names . Will try do that when I have time.

I think I have hubbers for most categories but am drawing a blank on hubs to vote for.

Marisa Wright has a good one on moving from Squidoo to HP, and Cardisa has a great one on SEO for poetry. Other than that...

I voted already since the deadline is tomorrow and unfortunately had to leave a few blank.  There are so many hubs, it makes me wonder if it wouldn't be better to nominate hubbers/hubs a month or so in advance and then make it where everyone can vote on the top nominations or something.  I believe we discussed this on the forums last year because others were having a hard time coming up with some of them then also.  hmmmm.

I think the voting ends tonight at midnight.  If you haven't voted yet, this is the Hub which I think should win for Most Awesome Hub:
    http://brownie83.hubpages.com/hub/10-Th … ou-to-Know

That's the Hub which earned $5,000.  Here's the bog post:

And this is my choice for Best Photographer:

I hope to see some new names receiving awards.  It shouldn't always be the most vocal forum contributors.  There are so many great hubs on HP.  I have no clue which hub deserves the top spot, but it needs to appeal to most everyone, in my opinion.
