I have a hub imported from a Squidoo lens. It has a broken link, but I cannot remove or edit the link because the linked text is so long that there is no red X beside the link for me to delete it. I've tried changing the view of my browser to very small (60%), and I cannot get the red X or the blue edit link to show up. I can move the link, but I cannot edit it or delete it.

So you can see the full URL that is broken on the broken links page here.
      http://hubpages.com/my/hubs/broken-links

      It is in this Hub.
      Tchaikovsky Composer Study

The broken link page identifies this as the link.
      http://www.pnb.org/kids/drawings.html

The broken link is in a link capsule.

You will want to edit the Hub using the HubTool, then edit the link capsule.

Click "edit" next to "Nutcracker Drawing Pages from the Pacific Northwest Ballet" in the link capsule.

You can click "test link" to have it recheck and confirm the link as bad.
You can either update the link or delete that link item using the red X.

The problem is that the EDIT button and the RED X do not show up. I can't click what's not there. I switched to a larger monitor, and I can see the EDIT and red X now.

What is the resolution of the monitor on which you do not see the controls for that link capsule?

I think it is likely related to the screen resolution, but I want to confirm that so I will check this out further on a Chromebook with a lower resolution later.

              Thank you for the information!

I did some further testing and was not able to reproduce this issue on a Chromebook that has a narrower display.

If you see this issue again, please leave the Hub in the state and email us at team@hubpages.com so we can look into it further.
              Thanks!

Oh Wow... You've been sitting here for 10 hours in the hope that someone would help sad

Okay... 2 ways of stripping it out

1 - Put your hub into Edit mode - open the capsule with the broken link - cursor to click on the last letter and hold down the left keypad button as you move right to left until you have covered the entire script you want removed blue. Now find (top right hand cnr of capsule) the link diagrams (one is complete - one is broken) Release the left button and the text will remain blue - move your cursor to the broken link image and click it.  The broken link should now be inactive.  If you want to use the same text for a new link, repeat the process and click the left link image.

Or smile  In Edit mode - Highlight the broken link text and press the Nuke button (between Insert & Home) on your keyboard. You will lose the text + the broken link and then just retype it again the way it should be - without having unsightly lines scrawled through text in your hub.

Or... Just delete and ditch the capsule and replace it with a new one with the same keyword And you'll get back exactly what you had minus the link...

I notice you have killed the link but x'd out the text... that lowers the aesthetics of your work.
Hope this has helped... take care
    PD
oh btw... I accept gifts or hugs!  smile
