   Hi Hubbers,
   Please explain why my Hub was not Featured.
   I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my Hub No Lien: The Fight Against Taxes. What can I do to improve? Thanks!

            I did. Break up the text, add a proper introduction and do what Wilderness suggests. It's a bit confusing - epecially for a Brit. Not all HubPages readers are in the US. You can't make assumptions that your readers know this stuff - unless you are developing a taxation niche.

   First, it is quite short.  Perhaps enough to squeeze through the QAP, perhaps not.
   
   But I also found it very confusing.  You start with a rapper that owes unpaid taxes, but quickly branch out to taxes should be a fraction of what they are and that most outlays should not be there.  Then back to the rich paying taxes, along with the rapper, and there should be no taxes, just voluntary contributions.
   
   So I would suggest that you tighten what you're writing about.  You want to discuss the rapper, or rich people in general, not paying taxes, do so.  You want to talk about overhauling the whole idea of taxes, do that.  You want to talk about people voluntarily contributing to the government, then talk about that. 
   
   But don't put them all together in a salad bowl of complaints; stick to one topic and expand it considerably with both your own thoughts and solid, factual information.

      I just checked My Account on HubPages. Currently, the Hub "No Lien" is a Featured Hub.  This adds to the rather arbitrary nature of the Quality Assessment Program as I only switched the photograph of Mr. Carter above the text instead of below to achieve this "feat".  Still, I am going to take into consideration your thoughts on my Hub.  The thorough and constructive criticism you have delivered has prompted me to improve the Hub even though it maintains a Featured status.
      
      The confusion is in part due to my insufficient understanding of how to express topics that I am passionate about in a cogent, comprehensive, and clear way.  In the future, I'll acknowledge only one topic of thought to tackle instead of failing to juggle multiple concepts. 
      
      Thanks for your honesty and respect for the craft of writing.

         You are more than welcome.  It will likely take a little while to figure out the ins and outs of both HP and online writing, but I'm sure you will make it.  You've got a good start going.
