"Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
    ---Martin Luther King, Jr.

My favorite MLK quote is that  - we judge people by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin...

My favorite MLK is: "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

Who are the MLK leaders of our days? Why don’t they continue his message? Instead of race baiting...
I am referring to Rev. Jackson and Rev. Sharpton...

Talk about politicizing this special day...
Just came across this article -

So, we are racist for not supporting the theory of human caused global warming...
            When will this insanity ends?

I usually ignore stuff like this. It's a waste of time.

MLK was such a wise and well spoken man!  I wish I could communicate as well as he did.

Yes. I know. Just think if more people spoke as well as he did, it would be a better world.

Love all of those MLK quotes. I also like: "In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."

Yes. That is a wonderful one. I almost posted that one. The one I posted usually has the first sentence removed, so I wanted to post it in full.

So true. We can practice it. That way we are setting an example so others can follow.

Beautiful words and meanings, but it is better to apply people in life.

We need to be aware of the sore spots in society. But if we give them too much attention it spreads bad news. I rather look at the good in people and focus on the positive. The new media is a propaganda machine designed to make the environment seem dangerous. Anything that causes calmness or betterment of society the news media attacks it. Two opposing ideas is what the journalist writes about, "to be fair" for his or her daily wage. That causes conflict within societies. Help others, spread goodness, and so forth.
