I'm very new to this and would love to hear some opinions on my hubs. I've only posted two so far but would like to know if I'm heading in the right direction. Any advice or criticism is welcome. Please tell me what you think of my writing style, content, layout, or anything you feel like commenting on! I have a few more hubs in the works but would like some feedback so I can learn how to make my future hubs better and more enjoyable. I wanted to publish two or three more before posting to this forum but I'm just so anxious! Thanks!
Your new? Really? Your hubs don't show it, they are well put together. They look great to me.
Welcome to Hubpages! Careful, it quickly becomes an addiction. =P
Your hubs are both fantastic: well written, well organized and informative. I'm impressed you've done your homework on how to create a succesful hub. I think you are well on your way. It's a shame you have no fans, so I'm changing that immediately. Nice work.
Thank you so much wordscribe and sunstreeks for the quick responses! What a great community! I would like to give you an extra thank you, wordscribe, for being my first fan. Uh oh, you were right sunstreeks, I think I just became addicted.
Very nicely done, both hubs!
Let me just give an advice concerning amazon capsules.
In large list hubs like the one you wrote about wedding fireworks, instead of one block of text create several smaller, so you can couple many amazon capsules with only one or two items completely pertinent to the item you are discussing in that moment.
That can increse your amazon revenue and with a little art, that amazon capsule can actually give an aesthetic efect to your hub instead of looking forced.
Just my two cents
Thank you anime. Although while I am just starting out and trying to focus on providing good content, the revenue is of course a great bonus. I am very interested in the advice you have provided me but I need some clarification. The wedding fireworks hub is many text capsules, I just didn't add many amazon capsules to it. Should I add more amazon capsules?
In regards to the comment on art, do you mean integration technique or is there a method of "beautifying" those amazon capsules? Thank you so much for your input.
Beautifying a capsule, that sounds so cute comin from a guy
no offence,
You're welcome Z!
I mean instead of 1 or 2 huge amazon capsules that look out of context and don't conect so well with the text, add several small capsules, choose precisely the products you want to display there (instead of putting keywords and letting the capsule decide for you) and put 1 or 2 products related to the text intothe right of it... than you can change the background colorto make people notice it more and so on...
As for aesthetics, what I mean is this... by choosing exactly the product you are displaying (and you do this by browsing amazon and choosing the link to product you want) you'll of course look for the products that has not only a direct conection to the issue you're talking, but also be alert to the display image of the product. If it's a real nice looking or unusual picture it will enrich your hub (and normally better looking things have bigger price tags, so more profit to you if someone buys ^_^').
Of course, it all depends on the subject at hand and your own conviction if the product you display will appeal to the audience.
Sometimes less is more!
Hope I helped
Ooo la la n a very nice side too l must say,
welcome to HubPages, btw
I just found out that I received a hubnugget nomination! I'm very honored to receive the nomination and just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has replied to my question in this forum and who has left fan mail and comments.
I don't know how to really go about promoting this so if anyone has time to take a look and vote on whichever you think is the best hub (hopefully mine ), that would be great.
I am also sending PMs to some of you who have posted here so sorry for being repetitive. I hope that is not out of line. I'm still learning the etiquette here so just let me know if I do something wrong!
Everybody has done some self-promoting at one time or another don't worry.

Hello everyone,First I would like to say hello My tame Is Tyler and it's very nice to meet you all. I started here about 3 weeks ago and my hope is that I can use this place to become a writer. I truly don't consider myself a writer and who knows maybe I never will. My hope however is to continue...

Why would two hubs go from featured to not featured? I didn't make any sort of major changes to them. One has been featured since this summer and gets a decent amount of views.Thank you. It really doesn't make sense.

I understand you've decided to take a cue from Squidoo and you've chosen to make at least one rule unclear on purpose. It's creating more work for everyone and alienating the people who produce the content you sell ads on by either making it clear you don't trust or respect us or that you are so...

This is a joke! I keep getting stupid questions showing up. They are personal questions to hubs and what I have seen have no relevance. This is a waste of space and time to have to close the screen when it pops up. Let us opt out or just Delete it!

So I had our designer whip up a little something for those of you who don't really feel like doing this HubChallenge after all of the pain and suffering that you went through during the last epic 100 Hubs in 30 Days that we did back in May: I thought that it was pretty funny (and of course Darkside...
