Do you consistently earn money from amazon capsules on your hubs?

No. In fact I have completely stopped using Amazon. The way they do things is just too bothersome.

      Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your reply. I ask the question because I just recently realized that the hub author does not make any money unless the reader buys the product listed. I originally thought that the reader only had to open the product icon.

Exactly my friend. What are the odds?

The odds of selling through Amazon through the pages you write are beyond miniscule. Why would anyone buy anything from opinion pieces, religious lessons or poems?

The odds of anyone buying from Amazon are completely minuscule anyway Susan. You have covered what almost all writers write about on this site. Not just me. Thank you for caring anyway. smile

The odds are not miniscule when you target buyers with your writing, but of course some product niches convert a lot better than others.

Nope, I have not earned money once from an amazon capsule actually.

Yes. But you have to write the right kind of hubs. People usually only buy things when they are specifically searching for products or for a solution to a problem they have (I guess you're probably the same?).

E.g. "Is widget A or widget B the best?"

    or

"How to get rid of black mould in my bathroom?"

Don't expect sales from other types of writing and you won't be disappointed.

      Susana S,
Thanks for your insights regarding the purchasing of products via the amazon capsule. I agree with your reasoning, and I would only buy something if it would solve a specific problem.

You're welcome. I have a hub detailing my experience with Amazon on Hubpages and how to earn some decent money from it if you're interested.

Its virtually impossible to earn any decent amount of money from Amazon affiliate ads here. The reason is, you need about 50,000 to 100,000 page views on average to make a single sale. No hubber gets page views like that. This site hardly gets much traffic at all really. I get way more traffic on my sites than this place ever will.

      djdaniel150,
Thanks for your reply to my question. I can see that I am not the only one who has very little to show for his efforts on behalf of amazon.com.

Yeah, cost per click and in text ads pay the best.

Every statement in this post is hugely inaccurate.

Yeah, it appears alot of the people on Hubpages make too many assumptions as far as monetizing on the web goes. Even if CPC or impressions based ads, earning money on the web requires a lot of traffic.
