Can anyone please advise me where I can go and download a good wordpress template? Help!
Whatever you do, make sure you or someone else looks through the actual code of the template to ensure that there are no "surprises." I have come across a number of templates that insert extra links to their sites or do other spammy things.
For example, one time I found a really cool looking template where the author had added a link to his blog into every post. So, every time you created a post with this template, instead of linking to your own site, you were linking to his.

I've now figured out the difference. Wordpress.com is for just writing blogs & from what I've figured out you can't use adsense or Amazon, etc. If I'm wrong, please correct me, and I need clear cut...

After reading another info packed hub from Mark Knowles I note he recommends not using the revenue sharing feature of sites such as Shetoldme and snipsly as your adsense code will leave a 'footprint' for google to see...
