Thanks Laughing Mom! It is really an exciting night! Being an extra in a movie was always on my "to do list" and when I was asked over 4 years ago if I'd like to play in a zombie movie, I didn't hesitate. My daughter and I went to every shooting we could and readily volunteered for any part we could. Several of my friends and ex-husband are in the film as well, provided we didn't end up on the cutting room floor.
We always dreamt of a day when we'd buy the DVD and have a big party and set out red carpet and dress up and joke with each other about seeing ourselves on screen. We always assumed the movie would go straight to DVD.
I found out last year that they actually found a distribution company that was enabling them to bring the movie to larger audiences at select theaters around the country. Having won some major awards at film festivals certainly helped too!
It's somewhat sureal to now be sitting here 4 1/2 years after filming, to now have the chance to see it in a very historical Waco Theater with actual red carpet and limos bringing the stars of the show.
You can bet several hubs will come out of this.
KCC - very well done and have a fabulous time
And milk it ... milk milk milk it
We don't have to know all the details about the afterparty if it gets too carried away, but.....I will expect an email.
I have no speaking parts, unless you count the moans, groans, and munching noises we were asked to make in one scene where a mob of us are doing the stiff dragging one leg walk towards one of the stars of the show.
I just got home from the premiere! It was so awesome! I was in the movie!! so was my daughter, my ex-husband, and a co-worker. We were all there tonight. Many of the stars of the show were on hand, as well as the director and producer, the script writer, and so many of the extras like me. It was such a great experience!
That is just great KCC...let's hear all the gory details soon!
I'm writing a hub about it. I had so much fun tonight! It was a packed house, they even started the movie 10 minutes late to try to accomodate the lines of people still trying to get in to find a seat.
Thanks! I wish I had taken more pictures, but you get so wrapped up in the excitement you forget you're holding a camera in your hand!
How cool is that KCC Big Country!!! I love zombie movies. Looking forward to the hub, it must have been quite an exciting night. Your daughter must have been thrilled.
Oh that is amazing. Go knock them dead you drop dead gorgeous thing.
It was such a good night for my daughter too. She has been telling her friends for 4 years now that she was in a movie, but of course, could never prove it. After four years, you can imagine how her friends thought she was lying. It was nice for her to have two of them with her tonight and she was able to show them both of her parents and herself in the movie. It was neat for all of us to sit among the stars of the show as well. It really was a magical night for all of us.
Wow! We have celebrity among us Hubbers
Good to know you had a wonderful time!
Oh wow! That's so wonderful! Think I can beg you for a virtual autograph?
Thanks everyone. I wrote a hub about the entire experience, from the filming, to the pre-show, to my critique of the final product. I posted the hub today. It has 3 pictures from last night.
Whoa- I in a roundabout way know someone famous
Very cool KCC, very cool indeed

Here are the rules. You get one choice, and one choice only. Dead or alive, real or fictional (as long as the fictional character is well known.) Choose wisely!P.S. Jesus isn't an option. Jesus is already a zombie!
