Why are people constantly doing religious threads. I hate people preaching whats right and wrong!! Drives me nuts.
Regardless of where you go, unless it atheist, you will run into religious threads. People feel strongly about this subject. But to spend time writing a thread about how you don't like it is kinda odd. If you don't like religious thread, either don't read them or respect the views of others. It is what it is.
Like the thread right below me saying woman are going against the word of god!!!!!!!!!!! Please
That thread was written by Mark as a joke...he's an Atheist.
Well, not exactly a joke I think. Mark has a great sense of humor and it shows in all his posts, but this does not make the main idea go away - for that thread it was that women preaching DO go against the letter of their faith. And we have quite a few Christian women preaching here at HP
Just kinda a Hubpage thing...I honestly didn't think most people got that worked up about such things, in general.
when a fanatic finds a place to soap box, they go whole hog.
LOL yea there must be alot of them because the thread below me has lots of people replying to it. I say everyone just ignores the stuff!!
Does give them an outlet. They could be out...lol...blowing up buildings or something.
I don't understand it either.
It's totally fine and I think wonderful to have your own views on something spiritual or religious. BUT...
I don't get why people don't realize that they are NEVER going to change another's mind, especially here on HubPages!
It's fine to share information and politely contrast views, but some of the personal attacks are downright pointless, not to mention completely inappropriate.
If you're an athiest, you're not going to convince a catholic there is no god. Same is true the other way around, too. Complete waste of time.
People need to reach their own conclusions through their own research and life experiences. Frankly, it'd sort of concern me that one would change his or her mind about their religious beliefs simply by reading an internet forum.
Just my opinion. Arguing never gets you anywhere, especially when it comes to such strong personal beliefs.
I agree girly...and that is precisely why I don't try. You will never see an Atheist knocking on your door trying shove his/her views down your throat. I only wish the same were true for the other side...
watch this! Atheist knocking on doors. http://www.break.com/index/door_to_door … rmons.html
LOL! That's classic! At least when I get Saturday morning callers from the Mormons or the Jehovah's Witnesses, I don't bash in the head with a broom! hahaha!
Not always I think. People at some junctions of their spiritual development are pretty open to allow outside opinions to alter their beliefs.

Fix Reason firmly in her seat, and call to her tribunal every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve the homage of reason than of blindfolded fear. ... Do not be frightened from this inquiry by any fear of its...

Is atheism becoming another religion? I am asking this question because many atheists are loudly talking against 'other' religions, like many of the the propagandists of religions do.I myself am an atheist, and I think it is not necessary to speak against religions. Instead of that we should...

An Atheist Claim on Religion, quote:Religions are all man-made like fairy-tale stories.Religions want to force others against their will to join them in order to take over the world.Religions are the primary source of all conflicts, major and minor, in the world. As I had stated in my last Forum, if...
