   how to purchase domain name?
   How to register the domain name?
   What will be the cost?
   What is free hosting and self hosting?
   How to build website at own?

      Try registering through GoDaddy. They also provide hosting. That should answer most of your questions.
      
      Try Blogging via Blogger and work your way from there. It's an easy system and provides ease of use for those who are not experienced in web-based languages.
      
      The cost shouldn't be over ten bucks, and blogger is free.

         Thank you DarwinsLaureate for your prompt answer, i am using blogger platform which has an extension ".blogspot.com" with th URL i selected.
         I want to strat a blog by a domain name where there should not be any extension.for example "www.prasanna.com"
         What is the procedure to start such type of blog?

         ^^ enough true to life horror stories to last you five lifetimes.  While they seem a viable choice.. when you get burned it will be badly... and you will get burned at some point.
         
         ICANN rules require you to have current contact information in whois.  If you're using public whois you CAN used munged contact information like
         
         f9a9s9c9i9s9t9s@a9c9l9u.o9r9g--remove9sandeverythingafterdashes.com
         
         which any intelligent sentient person can resolve into
         
         fascists@aclu.org
         
         if godaddy wants to take your domain they allege the automated spambots were unable to reach you at the published whois.  And right well they shouldn't: that was the point.  A REAL person could have contacted you.  Godaddy will snatch your domain.  If you're on the receiving end of slightly less fascism you will have the 'opportunity' to pay an excessive extortion fee to recover your domain.  lucky you?  no.
         
         
         
         moniker.com is nodaddy.com forum recommended but doesn't provide hosting and have elusive tech support.  While they suck the least they too have inane policies.  The best is password expiration that requires you to call them.  They keep super fantastic phone hours that makes that one a real joy.
         
         Use 'cheap' as your primary criteria?  You're going to get hosed.

         godaddy (http://NOdaddy.com) web hosting is a joke.
         
         Go ahead and try to use the space YOU'VE PAID FOR.  Go ahead.   If you interact with support EVER you're account is flagged for routine 'inspection'.  If no interaction you may well be flagged anyway.
         
         You'll get a delightful "stop using your hosting" letter saying that you cannot store files on your account.  Godaddy hosts appears to have ZERO  understanding of apache, a webserver technology.  Files are stored and the software serves them up to requesting visitor's web browser.
         
         Can't store files?
         
         You ain't got not website.

   1. Use godaddy  at your peril. See http://nodaddy.com for reasons why.
   
   2. Register your domain name with Namecheap. There are lots of other registrars, but they are the ones I would recommend. Cost will be around $10 per year.
   
   3. Using the forwarding faclities at Namecheap, forward your domain name to the address of your blogspot blog.
   
   4. To set up your blogspot blog, there are lots of instructions at blogger.com.
   
   5. My hub about free hosting options may be of help to you as well.

   People have disliked the GoDaddy service. I've never had issues with them, but I don't use them often.
   
   But any service as large as GoDaddy is going to have its detractors, but I'm sure it's not without reason.

   Go with blogger.com as it will show you the ropes,whereas godaddy will sell you all kinds of crap and then will not help you produce a web site.

   The best result is register your domain name with goDaddy and host it with wordpress.org.

      You can't place Adsense ads on a blog hosted at wordpress.org, so if that is part of the plan, you need to go elsewhere.

   In terms of control, your best bet is to get your own hosting, which you can do for about $10 US per month - that lets you have as many domain name as you like.
   
   We use Bluehost.com, and they have 24/7 support to Level 2, with which we have never had an issue. We had one issue which had to be escalated to Level 3, which only operates in US business hours - very inconvenient for us Down Under!
   
   But they are pretty good. A lot of other hosting companies are just reselling Bluehost, and just adding a percentage to the price.
   
   Then, you go into the control panel for your domain name, and there is a button to install Wordpress on your domain.
   
   You can then add a bunch of cool plug-ins which run ads, place messages for readers, manage spam comments, make the posts more SEO friendly, and a whole world of good stuff.
   
   One day we will get around to making a Camtasia of how to install Wordpress, because our clients keep asking us for help, and it really is so simple anyone could do it themselves.

   A site may be currently be free of malware but it may have a checked past.  Also, sites may be blocked based on reviews at services such as OpenDNS and Site Advisor.  Your domain - especially a recycled domain newly acquired -may be banned or blocked due to previously delivering malware, trojans, or porn.  Automated monitoring is a great idea, but you should also do a background check.
   
   One way is by using the free Domain Background Check cheat sheet at http://siteriver.com/domaintest.php - generates over a dozen links to domain check, anti-malware, and other tools to quickly check if your domain name is ready for business or is still on parole.
