can you really make money from hubbing? how long does it take?
As you have no Hubs so far, this question is really moot. If you don't put in any time or work to make quality content on this site, your chances of earning are zero.
You might find reading the FAQ and Learning Center helpful in explaining to you how this site works and how earnings are possible,

A combination of quantity but with high quality will get you making money faster than shooting out hundreds of bad articles. Give your readers what they want and they will come back and others will send people your way.

Read other Hubbers articles on making money with Hubpages but than get started.
It is a fair question to ask before you embark on the hard work of being involved in hubpages. But as Relache says, there will be hard work required. A number of users report making money on Hubpages. You might need to proceed on faith at first. One observation I would make is that hubbers are animated by motives other than making money, and some of them conflate the community aspect of hubpages and the money aspect of it. For instance, I am not sure why you need lots of followers or why you necessarily need to be known for writing quality hubs. Why is it important to create a buzz or have yourself referred to other hubbers? These things will likely drive other hubbers to your hubpage but internal hubpages traffic is of low value when it comes to adsense clicks. If you want to be involved in the community and develop relationships with other hubbers, then you might want internal hubpages traffic. To make money you need external traffic, and that traffic will come from search engine optimization. It is to your benefit to write lengthy hubpages because you are more likely to optimize your hub for longtail keywords without even trying, but it is unclear why your writing should be of high quality. I am not suggesting that you intentionally churn out poor content, only that quality of content may not having anything to do with your earnings.
Everyone's intention when asking this is to find genuine answers. But when answers arrive, you don't know which one is real and which one is fake; it's a bad question. But still, if HubPages didn't work, everyone would know and there wouldn't be thousands telling you it does. It won't make you rich, but you never know!

When I look at the questions section of hubpages I see pages and pages of silly questions. A lot of the time, when I click on "unanswered" or "latest" I see that the same person has asked ten or so questions in a row. I suspect that in most cases this is because of the fact that...

I have a question. For google adsence, I know with hubpages a person only recives a certain percentage from ad clicks, but with blogger you get 100% - So wouldn't it be more profitable posting on blogger vs hubpages ? especially if your traffic from blogger is about the same traffic as...
