It means traffic has significantly increased recently. What a significant increase is, depends on the hub. For a hub that gets 100 views per day, a few more won't make a difference but if it suddenly gets 200 that's definitely a significant increase in traffic.

Pretty frustrating when I get a significant traffic spike only to see CPM values plummet. My Google Analytics stay steady for the most part as far as page time, bounce rate and things of that nature. Why does this always happen?
