What does it mean when someone puts this at the end of a hub comment. : -D

Look at it sideways. Smiley faces are used at the end of a message to show an emotion, usually because it is often hard to interpret what the author's tone is. For instance, to show that I was joking, I might add a (smiley w/ tongue out) to show that I didn't mean the comment seriously.
