I think it would be beautiful if we can express our feelings to our friends here through some effective emojis. What is your opinion please.
I would like to hear it from the staff also.

We have smiley emojis in the formatting area of comment boxes in the forums.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't notice it previously.
But, I was thinking of the hand-gesture emojis and of flowers or celebration emojis.

        I've never seen them.

I occasionally try to post an emoji, but it doesn't work.

It usually ends up placing a ? Mark instead.

When replying, you will see 'formatting' under the comment box. Click on it, scroll down and you'll see the codes for emojis.

You don't have to type the word 'smiley' though. Just the symbols. So for a smile it's a colon followed by a right hand parenthesis  smile

I couldn't understand the need for so many smiley symbols. 2 or 3 is enough.
But, here I am for the celebration emojis.

Works fine with the closing colon.

          roll

True, John. That rolling one can do the work in lieu of many of those redundant emojis.

I found those we already can type here enough. I'll gladly use fewer emojis here since I frequently use them in my marketing job.

        Happy Friday, everyone! smile

It would be nice, Venkatachari. The emojis in the formatting are limiting but do the job for the most part. Misbah was really good at creating images using different symbols on the keyboard. For example: \_0_/ This is a person with their hands up.

Interestingly, forum posts show extended emojis when being composed, but not when published.

Looking at the source for the page, the images are in the /x subfolder off the hubpages domain. Behind the scenes, the HTML just renders the 16 pixel square images from these subfolders.
