How much importance do you put on tags to get good traffic?
Do you think tags are important? Is there a correlation between large numbers of tags and high traffic or do you think it is quality of keyword tags that matters? How many tags do your high traffic hubs have?
Tags are important because they are one thing that tell the search engines what your page is about. You need to choose tags carefully. I add as many relevant tags that I can think of within the number allowed - some broad and some long tail.
This hub on tags is the best one I've ever read and helped me increase traffic to my hubs: http://hubpages.com/hub/Hubpages-Traffic-Use-of-Tags
Definitely worth a read!
They make a difference to me. I see the results when I modify my tags in existing hubs. After a month or so from first publication, I check to see what keywords people have been using in search engines to find my hub. Then I take the most meaningful and closely related keywords and put them in my tags.
You can find the keywords under the "stats" tab.

Who hasn't quite got a grasp on it yet?Be honest, and mention it in this thread, and I'll look through some hubs and choose one from a few different hubbers and I and 2 other specifically selected hubbers will look, comment and make suggestions on what keywords to target and how best to tag the...

And indeed my hub rating, after doing something with my hubs.It may seem like stating the obvious, but I went through all of hubs and put the absolute maximum number of tags that I could before it said "you have too many tags" or whatever it says. When it said that I had too many tags I...

My favorite tip (currently) is to find related blogs on my hub article, post a nice comment, and use the url to my hub on that topic in the URL box for most blogs. Some do not have this facility so I have to think about what my comment is going to be so that it is valuable to the blogger! If I can...
