How to change the thumbnail image on your Hubs

How do I change the thumbnail that appears when my Hub is published? Some of my Hubs have really weird, unrelated pictures for my Hubs because I posted an image as part of a joke within the Hub. I want the thumbnail to be slightly related though, just so it doesn't look stupid at first glance (that realization will be confirmed as you read the Hub).

That is really easy.  The thing to remember is that there will be a picture with your hubs.

The first picture in your hub will appear as the thumbnail.  If you don't put a picture in the hub then your profile pic will automatically be placed there.

It doesn't matter if you put it in as a joke it will show up.  Just put a picture, one that you want to show, in the hub where it will come first.  The other one will not show as the thumbnail.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Daffy, but arg - I should have been clearer.

I realize that the first picture in the hub will be the thumbnail. But sometimes I don't want it to be the first picture in the hub - like maybe I wanna have it somewhere in the middle or at the end.

I tried making the first picture "invisible" by checking off the "don't show this capsule" option, but it just gets the second picture and ignores the invisible one.

I guess I'll have to make do with using it as a first picture, but I just don't like it as much smile

    Thanks for the help though!

Try making the first picture smaller and the second picture full width.  I've found that pictures that are not set at full width are not usually picked up as thumbnail pictures, so perhaps it will skip your first picture if it is set smaller.  It would be nice to have more control over such things in our Hubs (are you listening Hubpages?).
