What do you do when you are bored and down?
I am free now and thought of writing. Then I realised that I don't have a mood for it. I am not going to write as if I have no writing mood, I ain't writing good stuff. So what do you do when you are bored and nothing to do?
I hop on my mountain bike and go for a bike ride. There really isn't a good excuse to not write if you want to become a writer though.
When asked for advice for your writers, Steven King says, "writers write."
Oh sure, there are times when you'll feel all inspired, but if you wait around for those times to come - you're not going to get much writing done. You have to look at it like it's work, because it IS work.
I write when i am bored. You can create a poem about boredom. It doesn't matter if you think it is bad.You are doing it for entertainment not to create a masterpiece and you 'll be enhancing your writing skills, after all practice makes perfect. Or you can take this time to read fellow hubbers .That is what I am doing right now.Hope you find some inspiration!
If I am able to go outside and play a sport or do something physical to release pent up energy, that's what I would do. However, depending on weather, present life conditions, at this time I go over and play Yahtzee at game sites. Hang out with other people and play a few games. Sitting and thinking is not a good thing. Keep active. Best for a bored mind.
I read a book or watch a movie. Something to make me feel better. It is the same thing I do when I am depressed. I go to the romantic comedy section of my novels, and it makes me feel better by the end of the evening.
