How do I verify ownership with Bing Webmaster?

When I try to verify my site with Bing, I am told:
Ownership verification is required to ensure that only rightful owners are provided with information about their sites.
    Choose one of the following:
Option 1: Place an XML file on your web server
Option 2: Copy and paste a tag in your default webpage
Option 3: Add CNAME record to DNS
Which one of these should I select and how do I proceed. Does anyone know?

Are you asking for your hubpages account? If for hubpages, you don't need to do this. Bing already crawls this site.

If for another site, just place the xml file they're suggesting in the root directory on your server. If you don't have access to the root directory you can ad a snippit of code right after the the first line of HTML on the mainpage (normally right after ).

I'd go with uploading the xml file, since it'll be the easiest.

If you are trying to do this for hubpages, you cannot verify any of your pages with any of those methods since they would require you to have access to the code of your page or the web server.

If this is for another site or blog or anything, I think the easiest method would be to place the tag code into your page and then upload your page.

Thanks to all of you for your help. I was trying to figure out how to do it for here. I may have another site I need help with in the future, but I am having problems with that site right now.
