How does one learn to be a "creative" writer?
Or is that a talent...either you have it or you don't?
It is not a talent that either you have or you don't. To be a "creative" writer requires the ability to not only think, but to think "outside the box", which can be difficult.
A creative writer experiments. It's not simply talent or no talent. It can be learned, but there is a difference between writing out of passion or writing out of habit. A long time ago "talent" was what the publishers decided would sell best, today it's about finding your niche audience. That can take a lot of experimentation, but it is rewarding because you learn about what works for you as a creative writer.
