How does Hub Pages determine Best and Hot Questions?
Many "hot" and "best" hubs may only have a few answers so they have to be selected based on other criteria. Is it a random thing or does someone actually look at each question and determine which is best or hot? I would think HP would need a large dedicated staff to perform that feat.
I don't know about best, but the hottest will be those that got nearest to the fire.
They may not have a lot of comments but they get views that are not shown to the viewer. The writer and HubPages will see how many views they get and those are what decides hot. With the best, it is the one with the highest hubscore.
Its all done by an algorithm, just like the latest, best and hot hubs. Like you said, the staff have other things to do.
