Does the earnings potential in the hub metrics directly relate to how much is earned?
No, absolutely NOT. That is merely a guess based upon the keywords in the title/url that you selected....there is no way for the hubpages software to predict how good a web page you'll put together after that.
No, it's an estimate of how much you earn per view. Personally I've been trying to get mine up lately to see if it has much of an effect but I can't seem to write any hubs that generate more than $$$ of revenue potential (ah SEO why have you forsaken me).

I have a hub just under 1,000 words that gets approx. 100 visitors per day. The hub metrics shows View Duration and Incoming Links at 5 stars. But the revenue potential only shows at a single $. How is that calculated?
