What can help one of someone's hubs to become the 'Hub of the Day'?

Thanks for your ideas!
Try to please the crowd by designing your hub with your visitors in mind. Write subjects that are enjoyable to reading. All those qualities you mentioned a long with popularity should help make an article the hub of the day.
Non-controversial and family friendly topics seem to appear as HOTD quite often, things to do with kids, where to take them. Crafts, household tips, holiday traditions. These are things I have noticed.
