Actually there are lots of hubbers who write humorous things. ImKarn23 has written some funny hubs as has JimmytheJock. christopheranton is a very funny writer who takes aim at some very serious subjects - including religion. shiningirisheyes is another hubber very gifted at writing in a humorous vein. Other hubbers like Britintexas and NellRose display a great sense of humor in their writing. Josh3418 has written some really funny stuff. Many hubbers write both humorous articles and serious ones.
I like writing humor but there are two main problems 1) humor is so individual that some people won't even see that it's supposed to be funny and others will find it downright offensive. 2) People search on Google for useful, rather than humorous articles, so I suspect you are not likely to make much, or any, money if that's your objective.
Humorous stuff is of course much more fun to write than articles on how to fix a broken toilet. I have written some humorous stuff but it's basically for my own amusement and in the hope of amusing a few other hubbers. I recently did a hub about a dog's downfall called "My Booze and Porn Hell - a Canine Confession". (http://mazzybolero.hubpages.com/hub/My- … Confession)
I expected to get a few views from hubbers, and I did. I also expected some people to disapprove, as there are some X-rated doggy photos in there. No one in fact said anything disapproving, but I noticed the ads disappeared! Checking my stats, I found to my surprise that on the first day I got 4 views from Google. Who on earth would google a humorous article about a dog? Then it dawned on me - it must have been people looking for hard-core porn! I could imagine their bemusement when, expecting to see a lurid graphic tale of bestiality and debauchery, they found themselves looking at a daft shaggy dog story It was worth writing it for that alone!
Obviously, check out the humor section, too!
She has some really hilarious hubs:

What would your top three humorous writing prompts/ideas/themes/topics be?Here in the hub pages I have ran into some very sharp and funny hubs, which I liked a lot, and I was thinking to challenge myself and try to write funny hub (as hard as it is :-), but that makes the challenge even more...

I still think comments should be comments, not discussions, that is the purpose of a forum. Maybe it would be a good idea that every author has a forum automatically made in a widget on there profile page and the topics are always the title of the Hub. That way you can discuss it and always edit...

Why doesn't HP implement a 'Trusted Authors' scheme where established writers can by-pass the 24 hour 'Pending' test for new hubs. As an established writer, I find this very annoying especially as the Google bot trawls Pending hubs, sees the NOINDEX Tag and does not re-crawl the page for days...
