Does HubPages update its page views as they happen?

I have been watching my hubs views mounting on Google Analytics (i.e.a.  they happen) but my hub view total has not changed all day. I sometimes thing HP gets sort of stuck - anyone else agree?

Because with the amount of people who use HubPages, the amount of simultaneous updating that the HubPages system would have to cope with would be too overwhelming to be done. Well... that's my theory at least.

Hmm, but it usually does ... just not today!

Glad you could understand my question - I seem to have made a right hash of it!

Well sometimes I do experience late updating with earnings, especially now I'm making some! Haha! smile More to the point, have you experienced an increase in earnings recently or views?

They have been down for maintenance all weekend. When it is working it is not real time updating. Normally around an hour all the way to maybe 2 hours is when they update.

Ah, that would make sense, JT42 ... many thanks for the clarity!

Can't help you there, Angie, I'm sorry.

Whether HP's measuring system is up, down, or closed for repair and maintenance, makes no difference to me. With single digit views, and falling, the only movement I see in my Hubs is a slow and inexorable slide down the gurgler. I'm expecting an auto-email any day to say, 'Please remove your waste, it's cluttering the site'. TBH, if they'd instituted a Flush button as part of the new layout upgrades, I'd have pushed it. (The way they're forcing the compulsory rating issue on the new HubHopper will result in the same outcome for many hubs anyway, imo. Too much room for, "I don't like this genre" ratings; none at all for, "Hey, this is great, I'll take a moment to encourage the writer".)

    But, I digress.

Getting back to your question, I'm delighted of course that you have views of sufficient volume and velocity to be able to spot anomolies on an hourly basis. Well done!

I did not know there was a rating mandate on the HubHopper - I have not hopped for a bit. Too depressing! But a rating system could mean that only hubs about dating, beauty tips and shoes are rated up!!! It is too open to abuse. Oh woe!
