Do we really have to change to the new design profile?

I am fine with the simple one. What would happen if we don't change to it? And if we have to, how do you get a photo to be a background?

The new profile design is about to be rolled out across the entire site.  You're going to get it whether you want it or not.  Once that change happens, the background image settings and controls are obvious.

I'm just fighting this in my own mind cause I just don't know how to do it. So HUbPages would give me a background image, is what your are saying if I don't change it on my own? Is that what you are saying?
      Thanks for your answer.

By what I've noticed, the new profile doesn't currently allow links in your Bio.  I hope that changes over time...

Click on change or get new setting ?    There are a few backgrounds you can choose from or somewhere to click to upload a photo . I just changed today and am happy with it ! Your own photo looks the best !
Here is the photo I used .

I like your photo you chose. I would try and go with one of mine also, but how do you make it a background?  I will have to try after my work day.
      thanks for the answer.

Yes, I just read that in a few days or shortly there after, it will be automatic.  I think I read it in the HP email that is sent to everyone.  I have actually loved the switch, but one does have to get used to the changes.  It is not too difficult or anything.  You can highlight your favorite hubs, or those that have not gotten much traffic.

That is where I read it in the HP email. I do like what people chose from what I've seen when I visit hubs. I am just not computer savvy and so slow at this stuff.
      Thanks your your answer.

      Hi Faith Reaper,
You know I want to do a dog background. I just still don't know-choose, upload and it's a background. Is that it?

Once you switch to the new profile, the place where you edit your profile will look different that it does with the old profile.  Don't worry about the fact that you can't upload a photo background right now.  When you switch, the option to upload one or choose a pre-set background will be right there on the screen.

You might as well just switch to the new profile now.  If you don't choose a upload your own image or choose a pre-set option, your background will be light gray, which still looks nice.

I will probably try, but wanted to do one of my dog photos. But will it be big enough for a background? I guess I won't know til I try, If nothing else, The light gray would work for me too. I am really a simpleton. Thanks for the answer.

freecamping, I do see what you mean. I think I just make it hard on myself trying to think it out! Will give it a go sometime this weekend. Thanks again. And your new look is really lovely.

I too was fine with the old look but I changed none-the-less, to my surprise I actually like the look of it. We tend to get comfortable with things that we don't see as broken, or at least that's the way I felt.I do think that you may like it.

I know what you mean. I dislike change, but that's me. Right now I am working on the new design. Not what I really wanted, can't get my dog to show. But it will work. Thanks for the answer.
