Is it a waste of my time to write Hubs if I can't write about making money online?
I enjoy writing here, but my purpose was to make money. But almost every article here revolves around how to make money, keywords, seo, freelance writing, etc. Does anybody out there make a decent amount writing about other things?
I have been here about 19 months and still have not made the first payout. About 2 weeks ago, I started publishing on another site. I have the same amount of articles there as I do here. I have one-third of the views I have gotten here in 19 months, on the other site in only 2 weeks. On the other site, most of my views come from Google. Rarely do I get Google views here. Funny thing is that the topics on both sites are in the same categories. I have read recently that the best topics are product reviews, health articles such as weight loss, etc. Find a niche that works for you. Holiday articles and travel articles work well but those are usually seasonal, therfore don't last long as far as searching goes. Who really knows. Google constantly changes. Earnings on article submission sites change, they may start out good, and then they drop drastically even though you are publishing more. Unfortunately, the income is primarily based on people clicking on ads unless we are promoting a product through an affiliate program and people buy that product from our link or website.
The best source for earning from writing is finding a reputable company and write articles for their clients as a ghost writer. You have no claim to the article but at least you get paid for your work. That is where my income comes from.
It became clear pretty quickly that I was never going to make a ton of $$ writing for this site so I quit obsessing about it months ago, now I just do it for fun. I don't have the time or patience to worry about keywords, SEO, etc., etc. anyway.
Yepper! One of the issues is that we can't see which hubs are working within the Hub pages programs. We know Adsense doesn't pay. All we see is traffic sources and amount of views. It would be helpful if we saw earnings per hub.
You're right Linda. I wonder why HP doesn't give us any inkling. Do they fear the site would be overrun with only a few types of articles if we know which were magic money makers and which were duds?
Since joining the HP earnings program I have been reaching payout every month. I only have a couple of hubs about earning money, most people think that because you are telling them ways of making money that traffic will automatically come simply for that reason but it doesn't really work like that. My most successful hubs are about human mind, psychology and psychiatry.
Linda---how coy is it to mention the site where you are doing well and then not tell us what site it is? C'mon Share!
I sure would like to know the name of that site, too!
I don't think we are to post links. But since you asked, it is Zujava. $5 minimum payout as well. I joined in September, won't see earnings til November 15th. They do not show daily earnings til the pay out date.
Yes, obviously people make money here writing about other things. The meta-writers who only write about how to write online for money probably don't make all that much money with those articles. They maintain other HP accounts where they write on real subjects. You'll find that people are quite secretive about their earnings and what topics are the most lucrative. Good luck working it out.

I am so frustrated right now. Here I am drinking my morning coffee and reading through my HP offerings. And, there they are! Person after person, with names that I have no chance to pronounce, writing articles (usually their first) that just the title alone, MAKES NO SENSE!OK, all of you bleeding...

Is hubpages in danger of being over-run by writers from India who can't write proper English? I went to a hubpages question yesterday, and half the answers were from Indian hubbers who didn't understand the question but felt compelled to answer it anyway. It's not just answers. More than half of the...

I'm new to HubPages, so give me a break if this is a terrible question. I nearly have 40 followers, and I have posted 15 hubs in 5-6 weeks. When do you start making the big bucks?

Is writing hubs about making money or for the love of writing?I don't write hubs that will get me hundreds of advertisement clicks, I write because I love writing. Why do you write hubs?

The chart above (made easily with Excel: check the tools menu / analysis) gives the distribution of daily earnings. Most of days daily earnings is about 0.45.As you can see, it doesn't follow the famous Normal Law in probability ... which is normal : normal law is not obligatory in the real world
