   Have you ever asked questions to research for your hubs?
   
   QnA is meant to ask questions which encourage people to write short answers, or may be new hubs. I read somewhere that you can also use questions to research about the hub - you could ask for opinions of people about a certain topic, or may be generally ask for pointers - information about something you'd like to include in your Hub. If not , what have you used this tool like this? What do you generally use it for, apart from just for the sake of using it. If yes, was your 'survey' useful? What disappointed you? What were the best answers that really helped you? #ShareYourQuestionStory

   Unless you are writing a Hub about a personal experience or a subject in which you are an expert, you need to do some research and asking questions is important. You can ask questions of people knowledgeable about the subject you are writing about, and you can ask questions of people about if they find the hub informative, enjoyable, etc., before publishing it. Finally, you have probably been asking questions all your life to give you the knowledge needed to write the hub.
   
   As far as asking questions on Hub Pages, that is more like running a poll, which is alright, but you cannot assume it to be a scientific poll, but a few of the answers may be useful as examples of the points you are trying to make or disprove.

      Well, nice opinions and perspective - but - the question was about 'your' (the repliers) story when you asked questions (if at all you did) to research about your hub

      I never asked a questions as a form of research, however, some answers to questions have given me ideas for hubs that I research myself.

   I suspect that many people use answers to generate hub content, which kind of raises ethical concerns about creating "original" content.
   
   If a person asks for different ways of cooking a turkey, and then writes an article titled "Different Ways of Cooking a Turkey" using just the answers given to that question, to me that seems bad, and I think that might even be against the rules.  If they use information gleaned from the answers along with their own research and ideas to write an article, then that seems reasonable. I guess it depends on how much the author relies on other people's efforts.

      Again, nice opinions and perspective - but - the question was not about whether the hubpages QnA is being used judiciously or not. It was more of a "share what happened when" kind of thing meant for sharing experience with great or not good answers

   I've asked a few questions as a way to gauge whether people would be interested in a hub on a topic.  I haven't used the answers themselves in a hub, but I have made a few write/don't write decisions based on the responses to the questions.

      Wow, that's a great way to utilize questions. I've myself found that other people's perspectives help to broaden your own - and might suggest a few more angles then you've already thought.
