What are ways hubbers can defeat their own purpose and send traffickers running?
Hubbers can actually send traffic in other directions rather than attract it. Many new hubbers make this mistake and regret it later.
It wouldn't be difficult to drive away visitors to your hub; having links in the text early on the article can do it.
Poor grammar and abbreviations or "text writing" will make me leave.
Also being controversial and making derogatory remarks about certain groups can accomplish this as well.
One other method to keep readers away is to argue and put down their comments.
An interesting question. Not sure about the traffickers part other than seeking buyers could possibly be what is sought. However, that points toward an endeavor of commerce and not necessarily exchange. Some hubs I have written sought that purpose of sending traffickers running and the rewards were significant. Reminds me of Steve McQueen in the series 'Wanted: Dead or Alive,' while considering what is 'wanted.'
I agree regarding 'some' new hubbers, more so since they are learning with seeing and doing, as listening is pondered. Teaching seems to gain the greatest reward, yet it is expensive. That adage 'nothing is taught until it is learned,' which is similar to 'nothing is sold until it is bought' comes to mind. Responsibility and accountability steps in around then too. Yet, again, purpose may be considered along a timeline of planning while adjustments are made seeking the destination, although that too could possibly be moving in space.
I am not sure if that wandering said much of anything, yet this author did learn.

Do you read hubs that are shared by hubbers who often 'share' their own hubs?Just wondering what your thoughts are ....by often I mean, several times a day or several times a week....

As some of you may know, I write nontraditional hubs. I pull in what I would consider ok traffic from outside Hub ( 2k a week average) but I am only making 30 cents a day on adsense anymore and very little on ebay. Now I know that my topics limit me as far a s associated income streams and this is...

Patty Inglish is helping moderate the group so you know it's legit! Let me know if you can't find the community and I'll help you out. The world of online journalism is changing and, in my opinion, Google+ is a very necessary next step! I'm sure many hubbers have already taken the plunge, but if...

That would be silly. Why would anyone follow someone that doesn't write what they want to read? I follow someone when I find a hubber that writes hubs I'm interested in, not as a social exercise to raise my "score" or something. You will find many with the same idea - HP is not...

Is there anything you don't you like about the new hubpages profile pages?I believe changing over is irreversible and ultimately inevitable for all hubbers but for all those who find change difficult :-) it would be good to hear of any negative observations regarding the new profile pages that you...
