Why does Hubpages let political viewpoints determine hub scores?
I wrote a high quality hub and it has a lower score than a fluff hub that I wrote. One is critical of gun control so of course it gets a lot of thumbs down. Will hubpages ever correct this policy?
I don't think thumbs up/down affect hubscores. Hubscores are mainly influenced by traffic levels, comments, and use of media capsules. In any case, the scores are completely meaningless since they aren't predictors of earnings.
Your fluff hub may be more popular with readers and that's why it has a higher score. There's also a component of randomness, which is why the scores fluctuate for no apparent reason. Supposedly it's to keep people more engaged on the site, but you shouldn't worry about scores.
So Hub Pages have scores that are basically based on arbitrary or random factors, are completely meaningless since they aren't predictors of earnings, and are really to be ignored. Are you sure HubPages.com isn't run by the government? .
actually my gun control hub has more traffic, more comments, and is better quality. That is why it is suspicious.
The same thing happens with some of my hubs too. Luckily they aren't visible to anyone but me, so I just don't worry about them.

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My...

I've been on here for a few years, and I guess I never really understood the point of these scores. They don't seem to provide any real value to the user and I can't convince myself that they add value because they...

I'm very happy with the results of the niche sites. It's a win-win for HubPages and writers like myself. But I'm a bit curious about the process for choosing Hubs that go on those sites. One of my most successful Hubs on...
