How does commenting and voting on other hubs affect my score?

My score was 29 earlier tonight. I haven't posted any hubs, but I have read, commented, and voted up some hubs. Now my score is 19. Why?! And other than my self esteem, what does the score affect?

Hubscore is basically a measure of your activity here in Hubpages. The amount of traffic directed to your hubs can affect it as well. Don't worry since it won't affect your income or anything important regarding your account. The system is automated so expect some glitches. Just be active in forum, leave comments, rate hubs, ask and answer questions, and most importantly post new hubs every now and then, to achieve a much better score in not time. Welcome to Hubpages and I wish you all the best!

Thank you so much for such an informative answer. It just seems that commenting and other ways of being active in the community is lowering the score, and I wasn't sure why. Thanks again so much!

Hi Nerdmama smile I only joined just over a week ago and my score  actually went down to zero after a few days! I was commenting and reading hubs so I wasn't sure why. Thankfully then  it started to climb again and has been  going upwards since. I did look at the forum at the time and scores going down for new people seemed quite common. So don't worry it might go downwards for a few days but just keep doing what your doing and it will start to rise like a phoenix big_smile

My hubscore went up when i started to leave comments on other hubs and answering questions every day without fail. My views also increased. If i skip one day, my score will drop 6 points and so are my views, even though i have not publish any hubs for some time. Hence, do continue to do what you are doing now every day. Your hubscore will increase. Good luck.
