    Is the 'HubPages Elite' program discontinued?

    I remember seeing hubbers with a little "e" of the bottom left side of their profile. They would welcome new hubbers. I don't recall seeing any of them anymore.

    It still exists but it is now called the team welcome wagon, which is a much better name for it. Instead of an "E" on their avatar, they have the word "Hi" now. See details at http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/hubgreeters

    Yes you will see a small (hi) in the lower left hand corner of those members profile pic, whom are part of this program.  I personally am a member of this program, but plan on stepping down soon. Because I am trying to write more and do not have a great deal of time any more to greet new members to the community, as much as I would like to.

    Like Clint Eastwood used to say in a few of his Dirty Harry Movies....."A Man's Got To Know His Limitations!" (;  Good luck with your writing here on hubpages and the Greeter, or Welcome Wagon program, may be great for you to join, if you do have some spare time.

      Thanks Jibowden. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you need to be a level 5 commentator to qualify. I'm a long way away.

      Anishphat;

      Actually you cannot drop below a level 4 commenter level.  So I am currently on lowest level for the program.  I used to be @a level 6 commenter level @ one time, however am not able to provide feedback to other members  as I used to.

    They are still around to welcome new Hubbers; however the name of the program changed from Elite to Welcome Wagon. You can see AEvans in the picture saying Hi...a welcome sign. I hope I answered the question to your expectations. smile

    As others noted, part of the Elite team became the Welcome Wagon. Other parts, such as those that ran contests, were discontinued at the volunteer level, and this work is now done by HubPages staff.

    I plan to apply to be on the Welcome Wagon soon, myself.

    In fact, I just did!

      Thanks, J! I finished the Apprenticeship Program in December. I thought it was excellent and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to make money on HubPages. I'm still integrating what I learned and growing to make it work for me.
