What is the longest time you've taken to write a hub and why?
Curious what types of hubs take the longest to write and how much research and work people are willing to do to go that extra mile. My longest hub took me about 5 hours to produce - it was a tutorial with multiple pictures and screenshots.
What hubs do you think take the longest? Are they worth it in the end?
I work full time so I only have a few hours a day to devote to writing hubs. Some of my hubs take up to a week to complete. Research alone could take a day or two. Then the actual writing takes 1-3 days. Finally, I like to "sleep" on my hubs. When I go back over them the next day, I see lots of mistakes, poor wording, etc. I envy people who can write great hubs in less than a day.
I am not sure which one of my hubs took the longest, because I have never really timed them. Plus, sometimes I start a hub, and don't get around to finishing it for a few days or possibly weeks in between. Sometimes I can crank out a Hub in 2 hours or so, other times it takes far longer. However, the hubs that take me the longest are, of course, the one's that take research. I actually love writing about topics that require further research beyond what I already know. I think it is fun to learn about new things, and share what I find with others. I think it is well worth it to research, because it adds a lot to your hub.
I've been sitting on one hub ever since I started writing for hubpages. Some day I will get the pictures into it and put some more details in. Then, I will finally publish it.
The hub I have written that took the longest was
"How to Craft Beautiful Easter Egg Ornaments You Can Keep Forever."
It didn't so much take a long time to write as it took a long time to create and photograph the eggs ornaments. I worked on it over a period of about 3 weeks.

Just gaging anyone else's earnings here. I just checked google adsense and I have earned 64 dollars in 18 months. I've only written 19 Hubs and most of them don't get any traffic. Any thoughts?
