How to set up Google authorship in Hubpages?
I want my hubs to be associated to Google plus profile to enjoy Author Rank. Can you please suggest how I can make it possible ?
I have added my G+ id to my Hubpages profile page. Is that it ?
Or do I have to use the rel=author markup somewhere ?
If so ... how do I do it ?
Thanks !
Here you have what you need:
http://support.google.com/webmasters/bi … nd=option2
Basically, you go to your google+ profile, add your hubpages user subdomain http://preethianusha.hubpages.com/ to Contributor section, then make sure all your hubs (each hub should have it) have a link to your G+ profile with "rel=author in the link and better to be on the Google+ Profile name, so if your G+ profile name is Preethi Anusha, at the end of all the hubs you write something like this:
About the author: Preethi Anusha is a blogger, etc.. and on the name Preethi Anusha you pub a link that points to your G+ profile page, like https://plus.google.com/youridhere?rel=author
I did this for many blogs and it worked. Yet, I didn't try on hubpages, I guess I need to set some time aside to do it
Thank you
I have actually set up my G+ profile in my HP profile name and it seems to work. I even tested 2 hubs using the structured data testing tool.
I guess HP is doing it in the code for us. Guess we may not have to manually set our markup .

I was studying the Authorship Markup on the new profile format that has been released for staff only at this time. I noticed that the HTML link to other profiles is coded as rel="me nofollow". This defeats the purpose of rel="me" for Google authorship markup since...

Looks like Google made another algo change earlier this week. My traffic rose about 25% on my main HP account around this time, so I'm guessing the update was the cause. My traffic is still low by historical standards (down by more than a third from the start of the year), but I...

Okay, this is why I dreaded the coming changeover -- Google authorship was working just fine under the old format, but the new profile page won't recognize my Google profile URL because I have an old Google member profile.Which works just fine with Google authorship, but Hubpages' new profile...

Where are we on this?I see Google has added a new way to verify authors: http://www.google.com/support/webmaster … er=1408986That would seem to make things easier, though we would have to go back and edit hubs unless HP would provide a way to do this automatically if we wanted to (and...

Why my hub url in google is appearing like the following; http://hubpages.com/hub/Basic-Terms-in-AccountingInstead of appearing like this; http://dilipchandra12.hubpages.com/hub/ … Accounting--- Almost all the hubs of mine are having the url appearing (changed) in the same lines. Here is...

As others, I am saddened by the recent Google update and drop in traffic,(luckily I have my eggs in different baskets) but what really ticks me off is that articles written recently (like a month ago!) by the average Joe and clearly copied from mine are outranking me! What I noticed is that when I...
