I've never suffered writers block as bad as this before. It's weird, when I joined hubpages I couldn't stop writing lol I actually wrote like 7 hubs in less then 2 weeks. Then all of a sudden I hit a dry spell. To be fair, I was super busy enrolling in nursing school (I got in btw.) I've been trying to write and nothing. I have a topic and I have all my notes done for it but it's kind of controversial (nothing crazy, just my stance on a very high profile subject right now.)
I guess I'm just wondering if any of you ever suffer the dreaded writers block for long stretches. If so, any advice?
I find that when I am busy, my mind works overtime and I have to make time to write things down. When I am not busy, or if I make a specific time to write, my mind starts to just stop working. The harder I try to write, the less I write.
I would suggest taking some time out to do something completely different, read different material, go somewhere interesting, meet up with friends, or just relax.
Have you ever had that scenario where you try to remember a name, the harder you think, the less likely you remember? But do something different, or stop thinking about it... Pop, there’s the answer.
If you still cannot write on the topic you have, put it to one side and write something else, then go back to it when you’re ready.
Even Stephen King admits to writer’s block, sometimes it takes him a year or more to complete a book, others he has written in 24 hours.
Hope this helps.
You are trying too hard, and you also are probably exhausted from all of the other things you do. Take a break from the writing. Use the time to read some hubs, some answers, some forums, etc. Often you will find inspiration there. Congrats on making into nursing school!
Writing needs focus on the topic at hand. I experience writers' block when I am distracted emotionally...if this is the cause of my block then I do something to calm me down like listening to my favorite music or watching my favorite TV show such as Crime Investigation and other documentary types. The point is, know the cause f that block then do some sort of "antidote" activities.
Thanks so much everyone Honestly, you all have each been really helpful. I actually managed to surprisingly get a hub done after all . I'm really so thankful to all of you.

Are you suffering from what is called the 'Writer's block'?For months I have been unable to write something on hubpages. I have had brilliant ideas but I end up procrastinating and telling myself that those ideas are best left to be written later for the book I intend to write someday. In the...
