Duplicate of my own content

I have some articles on my blog which don't get much traffic. I would like to take those articles and move them to hubpages, but I am worried that they will be marked duplicates.

Am I thinking this through correctly? It is my stuff, and hits are basically nothing, but they will show up in Google if you paste some of it.

I could rewrite, but I don't really want to if I don't have to.

    Thanks wink

They will definitely be marked as duplicate content, and you will have a low score on those Hubs.

It won't stop them showing up in search engines, but it will impact your overall score as an author.

    Hubpages rewards original content.

You won't have to take them down if they are actually yours from somewhere else, because you have the right to use them, but you will have to tolerate the duplicate content penalty.

If you think the ideas are worthwhile, do a rewrite. You can check at dupecop.com to see what percentage different your new version is.

tresero, they might well put in an override since it's your own work.  if it were me, I'd put it up and see what happens, if it gets hit dupe, run for review and THEN if you don't like the results, you can make another choice.

I duped some of my own writing and didn't have a problem with it, and eventually it solved itself as the board it was originally on washed under completely.  heh.

Does anyone know if the duplicate content issue includes images that you own that are used elsewhere? Or is it OK to use images on multiple sites?

I have one article that I have on my blog and on buzzle. It is my own content and I put it on HubPages and I know I got a lower score in the beginning but it has recovered and is scoring among my top articles. If it is a good article and it is yours I don't think you will have a problem.

    David,
I don't think the images count as dup content as most Hubbers use public domain images and videos from Google and YouTube.

Tresero, if your blog is doing so badly, why don't you just delete the material off your blog when you post it here?  That way there won't be a problem.
