Big drop in traffic so I tried to check Webmaster tools and..
It seems that lots of my articles are not being crawled, I have lots of 410 's which mean they can't be found. I tried the 'fetch as google' thing, but still it says not found! one big huge HELP! am I doing it right? thanks!
Nell: I had a huge drop in traffic about a week ago and despite all of my efforts to find out why and make improvements, my numbers keep dropping. At least in your case something is showing in WMT that gives you a clue about a problem. In my case there are no penalties or messages, and I am totally left in the dark. Maybe you should put this on the forums so that one of the SEO people here can help you out. Good luck.
I've gotten some of those messages while clicking on hubs to read. It may be some kind of glitch with either HP or Google. Contact HP and give them a list of the hubs for which you get that message and maybe they can troubleshoot the problem and fix it.
I don't know the answer, either, but now that you mention it, I've clicked on a couple of links to hubs and got the "Can't find it" message. Alas, I didn't report it because I (wrongly?) assumed the hub had been deleted. Next time this happens, though, I'll look a bit further to see if it' really a 410, also report it to HP if it is, in fact, a 410.
Was that to mine Genee? something is definitely going on then, thanks!
Yes, that was to you, Nell. I don't know how it ended up as a reply to Ruthbro's comment. I just clicked the "Answer This Question" button and started typing in the box. Definitely something weird going on alright.
I'm not able to help due to Google ignorance but this could be a forum topic NellRose, don't you think? You'd get more response from forum feasters.
I do not know what it is all about either but someone mentioned that the whole WWW was going to be going through their ads campaigns of all the sites...that is a whole lot of them. My activities on all my sites that I visit are down quit a bit. I am hoping that this is what it is all about. Nothing we can do but wait it out. I hope it picks up by the end of the week or next week.

Hello. I have some questions regarding Google Analytics and Webmaster tools. Any help is greatly appreciated. When I checked my webmaster tools, I saw a lot of URL errors, a 404 crawl error because apparently "Googlebot couldn't crawl this URL because it points to a non-existent page"....

I had a hub that was receiving around 1,300-1,500 views per day. It was chosen as Editor's Choice. It then dropped by about 1,000 views per day. I opted out of the program, but that hub is no longer showing in Google for the keywords that brought it all the traffic before EC messed it up. How can I...

I just checked my Webmaster Tools and can see a sudden, dramatic rise in strange 404 messages - and that rise coincides with my fall in traffic. Can others check to see if they have the same? It's as if Google is inserting HubPages' categories into my sub-domain to create...

This is just one example of many errors showing up in Google webmaster tools that appear to have category information added into the url of my hub creating a link to a non-existent hub. In the link below, "/family-and-parenting/kids/" is the part that I think may be creating the...

"Paranoia" must think some of you, and honestly, I used to think the same. I didn't even believe that this was possible, even though Google mentioned that they have ways to detect link spamming. But the reality proved me I was wrong. My Traffic Is Constantly Going DownI did complain a...
