Why do comments without any offense get moderated and then deleted?
I am facing this problem for last two comments I punched in. First they went under moderation and then got deleted. Is this is a ban from commenting.
I have comment moderation turned on for all my articles, just as I did at Squidoo. I don't approve comments that aren't about what I've written, or are more about the poster than they are about the article.
Thanks Lisa. That was helpful indeed. Now I know what I have to do.
I also think that there is an option to hide comments until they are approved. So it's still possible your comment will appear later, once the author has had a chance to approve it.
This also a great tool to moderate positive/ negative comments... material based information etc.
Many people don't approve comments which are generic enough that they could apply to any hub. Many use the rule of thumb that if a comment adds nothing of value to the discussion, it doesn't see the light of day. If there is nothing an author can say in reply except "Thank you for reading and commenting," your comment may be deleted.
Comments should show that you have, indeed, actually read the hub all the way through before posting your comment.
Aniket, I don't know but good question. A little while ago one of your comments at a Question I asked was sent to me for moderation. I don't get this, as there was nothing offensive about your comment, and I do not typically receive prompts for moderating Question comments anyway. This has happened only a couple other times that I recall, and I find it odd when it does as the truly offensive and questionable comments seem to have no problem whatsoever showing up!
Thanks Beth. I too am not sure why this has happened, nonetheless I have decided to maintain it low for a while, I think that will be the best way to avoid attention. Hopefully that works. But thanks again. It was helpful knowing your opinion.
Some folks will not approve of a comment that disagrees with their opinion no matter how articulate and intelligent your statements were. In some instances those who have not figured out how to delete or remove comments may opt to delete their hub.
It's also possible that HP may have unpublished the writer's hub for lack of quality or not meeting certain requirements.
Lastly sometimes writers don't always get a notification alerting them they have a comment to approve. If he or she has written 50 or more hubs they're not likely to check all their hubs daily to see if they have comments to approve. If the writer infrequently or rarely visits HP they may not approve their comments.

For the last ten days I do not seem to be able to reply to the 12 comments that I have received on various posts. After having read an article and having left a comment, that does not seem to work either. I have mentioned this glitch on the hubpage Facebook pages and now again here. Please...

This has probably been addressed elsewhere but I haven't found the answer yet. Is it ok to post a link to your own hub in the comments section to someone else's hub on the same or similar subject? I just found such a post in a comment on one of my hubs and don't know whether its a good...

If I am not wrong comments were moderated before we were given the chance to view them and choose to accept or deny it, at least in case of unregistered users. Am I wrong in thinking this was the case and it was just something on QnA?If it was, is this no longer the case?I have been getting a lot...

Do you approve all comments on your hubs, even if every third word is a swear word? I'm just wondering if it's normal to do so or if it's normal to just delete it.

What does it mean when your comment does not post immediately on a hub but you can see that others do? Is it related to the "accept or deny" buttons in the comment section on our page? Seems there's another level of regulation I'm missing because it doesn't happen every time. Some...

Every time I write a Hub, I have to go into the comment module and checkmark "Must approve all comments". I would suggest that Hubpages make this checkmarked and enabled by default. I feel that it is important for all authors to moderate comments in order to prevent spam...
