For the last ten days I do not seem to be able to reply to the 12 comments that I have received on various posts.
After having read an article and having left a comment, that does not seem to work either.
I have mentioned this glitch on the hubpage Facebook pages and now again here. Please can this be sorted!
I have not changed any settings whatsoever!
Thanks
Nadine
I also forgot to mention that in the editing version all my images I created for my hubs are not showing either.
There is no problem with Hubpages. You may have a computer issue. You can try using a different browser such as firefox instead of internet explorer.
Hi Nadine,
Is this with Hubs that were transferred to niche sites? Don't forget you have to log into each site separately to approve and respond to comments.
So far as I know my kind of topics does not have a niche site. Only recipes and travel articles that I know of have...
Do we get to see on our account where our articles have been moved to, because I do not see that any of mine have moved?
Thanks for your comment Christy but so far it seems that other people can comment on my articles, but I cannot reply to them or comment on others their post. If some of my articles have been moved, should that then not show were to in my account? Where are these new niche sites? I mean are there life links? I will again come back in a few days time to see if anything has been changed.
I'm not able to replicate your issue. Are you replying to comments in the comment section if your account or on the Hubs themselves?
I go to this page, http://hubpages.com/my/hubs/comments where I see all the comments, some for different articles but the approve button does not work. With some articles one click on the approve button takes me to the top of the same page and on others nothing, there is no reply option popping up below the page. Also I see no images from the actual article side when i tried to reply there. Again the approve button under a comment takes me to the top of the article page. When I leave a reply to ( Larry) again when I click on the post comment button, I again end up on the top of the article page. The reply that I have typed at the end of that article page has not been posted.
Christy I just tried to leave a comment on an article about the dragon fruit from Peggy ..
.Interesting about this dragon fruit. I will look out for them in our fruit and veggie shop in Cape Town. I tried to leave a comment on your article page but that did not work for me. Now I try here.
But it did not work for me. Not from her article page and also not from the feed page?
Have you tried using a different browser and/or updating the one you are currently using when accessing HubPages? If I'm not able to reproduce the problem it's very difficult for us to figure out how to help. I recommend trying in Google Chrome if you haven't already.
I have a similar minor problem, even when I'm logged into a niche site. I receive an email telling me I've received a comment. When I click on the link in the email, the hub is displayed, minus the new comment. It seems to take about half an hour for the comment to eventually appear. Maybe this is deliberate?
Did you try reloading the pages? If you are having many comments and you wanted to reply to each comment separately, you need to reload the page after replying to each comment.
The moment I click on the approve button the page jumps to the top. No option to comment
Does it get approved on clicking? If it gets approved, there should be the comment/ reply option. Or else, you try reloading the page and see whether the comment option appears.
It's good to see that I'm not alone! I've been experiencing this problem as well. And I've tried various different things... Even refreshing the page, or logging out and back in again. I've even gone as far as looking in to see if it is the fault of the computer I'm on, and, well... Nothing changed. No matter what I do, I can't respond to comments.
Thanks for sharing that because i was already blaming it on my computer. My husband could leave a command from his computer as a member. I also do not see any images that I have created for this and many other posts. I'm sure it must have to do with the moving over to niche websites? But I cannot get into the creative writing site because it has no Facebook login option and I tried with my Facebook account but that does not work either. If any of my articles have been moved surely they can make a note with a link of that article on my account page!
I tried following you Kryssy but that button was also not working for me! it seems to be my account?
Thanks Christy for your advice to use another browser. Why that would now be necessarily after more than two years is beyond me, but It worked using Google Chrome! I can now leave comments and I can see all my images again.
Something is definitely up with the comments. I logged into HP and according to my feed page, I had two new comments - one on a Hub and one on an article that's been moved to a niche site (PetHelpful).
I was able to approve and reply to the article on HP but when I went to the PetHelpful page, signed in, and went to my article, it showed no new comments.
If I go to the page in "my account" to approve comments, it still shows nothing. I have tried it in Firefox and in Chrome.
However, when I go back to plain ol' HP and check out my feed, the number "1" is still there next to my name/pic and my Notifications tell me that the PetHelpful article has a new comment.
Even weirder, if I scroll thru my feed, I can SEE that article and its new comment IN my feed, even though I have not approved it yet!!
So... woot da heck is goin' on y'all??
This morning I was able to approve that "missing" comment on the PetHelpful piece.
Soooo... I have no idea what went wrong, but it seems to have been fixed overnight.
This happens me too, however I've found that there seems to be a delay of about half an hour between getting a notification and being able to view it within the hub. The comment appears instantly in the feed however.

If I view my account's Comments page, it's easy to view, approve and respond to unapproved comments. However, if I go to a new comment in one of my hubs and click Approve, I cannot reply to it directly on the comment. Instead, I have to go to my main Comments page and find the now approved comment...

When I post a comment to someone's hub including a question and they approve it, but do not answer the question, does that mean they have no manners? In your opinion.
by FloraBreenRobison 12 years ago
I tried to post this in the answers section-where I think the question should be-but I kept being told the question had already been asked by someone else-not true-and I couldn't post it. This is directed only to hubbers who tend to respond to all comments left on their hub, rather than never...

Hi Hubbers! Today I have some news to share related to Hub comment moderation. While we have traditionally used a nearly 100% community-run comment moderation system, we are concerned because there are in fact thousands of potentially low-quality anonymous comments across the site. Thoughtful and...

Do you accept or deny comments that leave a link to someone's website?I don't mind people leaving a link to one of their hubs but I don't know about people leaving a link to their own website.

Do you approve or deny negative feedback that includes insulting comments on you HubPages?
