I get that I am supposed to paste the url codes and stuff like google ad cloud script to my webpage....but where on my web page? In the copy? huh? that can't be it because then I all get is the raw script looking stupid at in the copy.
This has to be fairly simple....I just don't get it.
You can't paste google code into your pages here, that's handled for you. But you do have to get your affiliate ID into the proper slot in the affiliate section.
why does it tell you to be sure you place the codes as directed if you cannot do this?
I think you might be reading the stuff about URL tracking of the people you refer to HubPages.
When you bring someone in from outside, and they sign up and start Hubbing, you get a share of the clicks on their ads.
To get this to happen, you have to make sure they come IN to Hubpages through a link with your URL tracker in it.
On the "My Account" page, there is a box to the right with "Your Hubs" and "Your Account" headings.
Under "Your Account", click on URL trackers.
Make one with nice words to replace the number soup if you want, and then make sure you use that link in all the outside promotions you do to bring traffic to your Hubs.
so I have been going in and placing the codes for nothing??? Why don't they update and explain this? I know I am not the only gullable one in here.
So does that mean that if you want to refer someone to another website you can't?
Apreciate your help.

HiI have a question about the affiliate URL trackers used for Hub Pages. If a person is reading a hub that I've published and then decides to join Hub Pages, would the person be added as an affiliate if he or she clicked on the 'join hub pages' button from the hub I created? Or would it not be...

Sometimes the counters work.Sometimes they don't.Why is that? I'm talking about perfectly good, working counters that suddenly drop dead.I know the code is still good. And I know they are getting traffic because I self-click test them all the time. I click them and they go where they are supposed to...
