Yes, I agree with you. You can share your own hub to get views and suggestions from other hubbers. If by sharing your own piece of work, you get a chance to improve your writing then I don't think it is a bad move.
It is fine, but do not overdo it, as Hubpages may punish you in some way, or other hubbers will report you.
