Well ok a virtual party that can only consist of words and smiley faces.
But for those of us still here, it's our Hubbers Party.
Just to chat, gossip argue and laugh.
Here's what we'll do, anyone can call out a topic anytime which starts the discussion. It doesn't have to do with the holidays, or can.
The Topic I would like to start with is; Motivation.
I have been feeling crippled lately
Primarily due to lack of motivation and publishing hubs.
I hope this doesn't last long cause the guilt's killing me
And you?
i blame the grey skies for my lack of motivation and recent downturn in mood!
actually though, hubpages just gave me a second wind!
same to you

The battle of the HUBS!
OKAY TOPIC: WHAT ARE YOU HONESTLY EXPECTING OR THINK YOU GOT FOR CHRISTMAS?
I already have an iPod, half paid for by me though. I've been given 'The Hangover' on DVD, and tomorrow I'm expecting some strange book or other from my spanish relatives, a keyboard stand from my grandparents, and my mother has given me some money towards a drum kit. Other than that, just book tokens probably
The Family Guy Movie: Something, something, something Dark Side.
For those on the other side of the world, Merry Christmas.
Normally on Christmas Eve we drive around the city looking at Christmas lights. But since that lovely storm we had last weekend, as the snow melts during the day, it turns into ice at night when the temperature drops. And since all the really good lights are on secondary neighborhood roads we decided not to risk it.
On the bright side the house is mostly clean, the presents wrapped and CSI: New York on the TV.
I need a nap.
Here is one for everyone.....I just got back from my sister's house, where her two daughters were, she(sister), her boyfriend of 11 years and his son and daughter.
My mom got something from her granddaughters- each got her one gift and my sister got her one gift. Cool.
My sister's boyfriend, did nothing for myself or my mother. His kids didn't get anything for my mom, like they have done in the past.
And, I received nothing. My mother had already given me my gift.
So, I hope everyone has a great holiday season.
Cherish your family, because not everyone has one.
I usually invite stray's for christmas dinner to the house. These are people who are going to be alone for christmas. Unable to go to family or something like that.
It's been a tradition for us for 25 years. We started doing it when we were in the air force.Being so far from family we'd invite friends over.
Someone always knows someone who's going to be alone.
That's nice, my sister does that occasionally. I'm the only stray I know this year
I'm not expecting anything. I've gotten all I'll be getting. Lots of wine and chocolate and gift certificates. Nice to see everyne knows me so well
uninvited, my boyfriend went to get wine earlier today and what did he bring back? Fat Bastard Merlot! <3
funny, i was going to tell him to get that and he brought it back without me asking!
off to drink wine! but i'm sure i won't stay away for long!
cheers!

For the new ones that have not heard this reference before, I remind myself of a splendid custom that took place between opposing armies during some of the most savage trench warfare of World War I. At Christmas time both trenches became open houses, opposing soldiers shared provisions with each...
